"Black Betty" is awesome - She's a 4WD High Roof 2.8 Litre Turbo Diesel with Dual rear side doors. This one is in superb condition. Zero rust. Non smokers car.

This one is a unique size Hiace being the Long Wheel Base High Roof design (not the Super Long Wheel Base) - so it's very manoeverable and easy to park.
The length is only 4.6 m (same as a standard hatch or sedan) with an excellent turning circle.
Height is 2.3 m - many of our clients choose this design for the et camper conversion car .

The constant 4WD (AWD) system is super strong and reliable (Its the similar design to the RAV4 or Kluger) and has been proven to be a better handling car on road and and excellent off-road performer also (see the cut and paste video links below showing a similast Hiace driving through soft sand dunes and on beaches, river crossings and muddy slippery forest trails)

The 2.8 litre Turbo Diesel engine coupled to the latest 6 speed automatic gearbox has more power, more torque and better fuel economy than the previous (also well regarded) 3.0 Litre Hiace engine. The gear changes are super smooth and this Hiace is very easy to drive.

"Black Betty" is super rare to see in factory original Toyota black and looks like a serious off road beast with its New Off Road wheels and tyres..

This 4WD Townace has a switchable 4WD System. At the press of a buttom in the dash she goes from Rear wheel Drive to 4WD.

4WD Townace is the small van with a massive interior space and seating for 5. This is a proper 4WD with a central diff-locker.

We love the Toyota brand and this is a magnificent practical Toyota product that fills a hole in the Aussie market.

The interior space is big enough to turn into a camper. and its big enough for most tradies with a 700KG payload.

The 4WD system is excellent with a push-button centre diff locker - ideal for beach fishing or off road tracks.
But also a brilliant city car. It has an amazing tight turning circle and is super easy to park anywhere. This a short vehicle measuring only 4,065 mm - so its super easy to park anywhere. The clever design with the engine under the seats and a shorter nose (i.e. no wasted long bonnet and engine out the front) means ALL of the space tip to tail is usable space. Parking has never been easier with tight spaces normally only for very small cars being accessible to this larger Townace.

The Toyota design philosophy of "Less is More" applies very well to these Townaces as they are a simple utilitarian vehicles with no gimmicky features.

The engine is also a case of "enough to get the job done efficiently and reliably" - The Townace comes with a robust 1.5 litre twin cam 4 cylinder petrol engine - the classic 4 cylinder design that Toyota has built its reputation on for the last 50 years. Fuel economy is excellent and highway performance is all there with enough to sit on the highway speed limit very comfortably.
